At our repair shop, we recently had a customer come in with a puzzling issue. His iPhone had been working perfectly, except for one thing—Siri couldn’t recognize his WhatsApp contacts. Typically, he would say, “Hey Siri, call Alfonso on WhatsApp,” and the call would go through seamlessly. But suddenly, Siri started responding with, “Sorry, you don’t have that contact,” even though the contact was definitely in his list.
Our initial thought was that the issue might be related to Siri’s microphone or voice recognition. We checked the mic, and everything seemed to be working fine. So, what could be causing Siri to fail at this specific task?
After some troubleshooting, we found the simplest solution: an app update. A quick update to the WhatsApp app resolved the issue completely. Siri was back to recognizing contacts and making calls as usual.
This experience serves as a great reminder that sometimes, when tech acts up, the solution might be as simple as keeping your apps up-to-date. If you’re facing similar issues with your iPhone or any other device, feel free to stop by our shop. We’re always here to help with both the simple fixes and the more complex repairs!
A special thank you to Miguel Pulido, one of our top customers, for bringing this issue to our attention.
