Last night at 7:38 PM, a customer came in with an urgent issue: her iPhone 14 Pro Max wouldn’t turn on. With just 20 minutes until closing and another repair ahead of hers, we were initially hesitant to take on the job. However, seeing how desperately she needed her phone, she offered to pay extra to have it fixed immediately. Understanding her urgency, we decided to help.

After explaining that diagnosing a phone that won’t turn on can sometimes be challenging, we got to work. As soon as we plugged in the iPhone, the Apple logo appeared, only to shut off immediately after. Suspecting a deeper issue, I opened the device, and a strong smell of battery acid hit me. Right away, I knew the battery was the problem—it had gone bad and was preventing the phone from turning on.

We quickly replaced the faulty battery, and the iPhone powered on perfectly! After testing all its features to ensure everything was working, the phone was good to go.

We charged her our standard rate—no extra fees, despite the late hours and urgent request. To our surprise, she left a generous $100 tip, expressing her gratitude for our quick and effective service. Not only did we make her day, but she also brightened the day of one of our employees.
